Last week, I found out that Tyson Group is a finalist for the 2020 Stevie Awards for Sales and Customer Service in the solution provider category of Sales Consulting Practice of the Year. I’m honored that our group has received this recognition, especially with the caliber of organizations in the running.
Michael Gallagher conceived of The Stevie Awards as a way to restore public confidence and investor trust in business after the devastating 2001 Enron scandal. Today, professionals recognize the Stevie Awards as the world’s premier and most coveted business awards.
But they never give out awards like this based on the efforts of a single person. Tyson Group has had the good fortune of putting together a solid sales crew with members like Jessica, Gina, and Sandy. Salespeople who understand how to consult with clients to help them get the most out of their sales team. We’ve also assembled a top-shelf instructional team with members like Allison, Moni, Traci, Sheila, Dan Desiree and most recently Seth. Trainers who know how to consult, assess, train, and coach sales people to reach their unrealized potential. Finally, our service and activation team of Lauren, Sian, Lisa, and Diane bridge the current and desired outcomes. They know how to translate what we sell into the services our clients want.
In short, to pull a reference from Jim Collin’s book, Good to Great, we did what we help our clients do. We got the right people on the bus and in the right seats. Needless to say, the effort has paid off!
New Times Require a New Sales Mindset
As I mentioned in a previous post, the sales landscape has changed. It requires a new kind of sales mindset, a new look at sales strategy, and more flexible and versatile salespeople. Currently, our world is more automated, information is more available, and the general public has raised expectations. As a result, sales reps must become more versatile, flexible, and transparent to earn their clients’ trust. And that’s what we seek to impart in our interactions with our clients: through assessments, through training strategy and design, when executing a training session, and when performing coaching and follow-up sessions. We win trust through transparent consulting and flawless execution.
Again, kudos to the crew at Tyson Group and to our clients who continue to entrust us with their future.
